AXIA worked with this Paris-based fragrance brand in the complete redesign of their high-end boutique, located in Hong Kong’s IFC mall. Building upon the company’s long-standing identity based on craftsmanship, heritage and the timeless powers of beauty and the imagination, AXIA gave these elements a more contemporary twist by keeping the space relatively open and designing a series of custom, vintage-inspired vanities to display Diptyque’s various product lines from perfumes to fragranced candles and lotions, as well as a gift-wrapping station.

In the front window, a large structural column that couldn’t be removed posed a particular design challenge. AXIA dealt with this obstruction by using it as an opportunity to create something akin to an art installation: around the column, an illuminated cylindrical sculpture was fashioned out of the brand’s most iconic candles, thereby elevating the product display. This gives the boutique a strong, eye-catching presence within the shopping concourse.

Inside the space, copper tubing — reminiscent of bamboo — is utilized in a fluid manner, serving as a display mechanism and consistent backdrop for the refined product line. A dramatic, hand-painted blue screen offers an elegant background for the boutique’s focal point, the perfume-testing bar.
