AXIA is comprised of a devoted team of designers and professionals, each with unique skills and talents, and all deeply motivated to push the boundaries of our disciplines.

M.Arch, B.ES., MRAIC

As AXIA’s founding partner, Chris Wong has successfully led and designed many of the practice’s award-winning projects in North America and Asia. He has over 20 years of experience working on a diverse range of architectural and urban design projects, including cultural facilities, commercial office and residential developments, social and community housing, public realm design, and tall building design. Since 2016, he has also served as Design Director in AXIA’s Hong Kong office — where his Asian portfolio has focused on residential towers in urban regeneration initiatives, commercial development, and corporate headquarters — though Chris is now based in Toronto, leading the Canadian team. A visionary thinker and designer, he is committed to architecture that responds intimately to its social context and fosters social connectivity, inclusion, and sustainability.

Prior to assuming his current role, he served as Design and Project Architect at a number of significant international offices: Wallman Architects (Toronto, ON), architectsAlliance (Toronto, ON), OMA Asia and RAD (Hong Kong, PRC), designing a number of high-profile, award-winning development and hotel projects in Canada, Korea, Taiwan and China. Not only an inborn designer, he also has a robust history in the administration and delivery of a multitude of significant architectural works. Chris has instructed Design Studios at the University of Waterloo, School of Architecture in Cambridge as an Adjunct Assistant Professor from 2008-2010. He is a frequent invited critic for various universities including the University of Toronto and Toronto Metropolitan University.

OAA, B.Arch, PgCert. CPAD

Leisdania Reynoso is a passionate, experienced Associate Partner and Project Manager, who brings to AXIA fourteen years of experience and a significant international background, across a range of architecture and design environments. Licensed in Ontario (OAA), Leisdania takes a collaborative, client-centred approach across her design and project management practice. An expert in social housing and its delivery methods, she has ample experience in navigating and leading the stakeholder consultation process, integrating disparate feedback into cohesive, inspired and dignified designs. At the helm of many of AXIA’s most important projects across the community, residential and commercial sectors — including a host of ongoing renewals and renovations of varying scales for Toronto Community Housing — she is a strong proponent of site-specific design and holistic environmental approaches that promote sustainability and yield considerable social impacts for the betterment of marginalized groups, and has recently achieved her credentials as a Certified Passive House Designer. Prior to joining AXIA in 2017, her body of work encompassed a variety of international projects from cemetery expansion to healthcare design to a series of remodeled sixteen-century houses in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo. Her cosmopolitan design background often provides a fresh source of ideas and approaches to AXIA.

Michael Good has been a longstanding Project Manager at AXIA and now is an Associate Partner. As such, he contributes in several important ways to the studio’s mission. Nimble and experienced across design, project management, construction and budget management, and green building principles, he has successfully led teams of varying sizes and knows how to prioritize each task without losing sight of the big picture. Throughout his career of more than ten years, he has played a cornerstone role on a variety of diverse projects in most major sectors including all scales of residential, cultural, institutional, commercial, master planning, and heritage retrofits.

At AXIA, through his astute coordination of multi-disciplinary teams, Michael leverages his role in both a design and administrative capacity to deliver high-quality architecture from concept to completion. He has been instrumental to many of AXIA’s most significant projects. As a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University and the University of Toronto’s Masters of Architecture program — where his studies concentrated on high-density transit-oriented solutions — Michael is passionate about urban revitalization, the protection of our environmental resources, healthy and vibrant communities, accessibility and inclusive design. Committed to ongoing education, he is a Certified Passive House Designer.

B.A., M.A., PhD

At AXIA, Leslie is responsible for writing engaging and well-tailored text for proposals in response to public procurement RFPs and design competition briefs, collaborating with architects and other team members to produce accurate, relevant and insightful content, offering strategic advice, writing for the website, and taking care of other various editing and communications needs. Prior to joining AXIA, she worked as in-house scope writer at Waterfront Toronto, where she gained a deep understanding of the public procurement process, and as a ghostwriter for various clients in the technology and science sectors. In addition to her role at AXIA, Leslie is an award-winning novelist and holds a PhD in English from Brown University.

Cyrus Wong is a passionate and experienced architect raised in Hong Kong, bringing seven years of experience and a significant international background across a range of architectural environments and construction phases to AXIA. Cyrus takes a collaborative, client-centric approach to his design and project management practice and has directly contributed to several of AXIA’s most prominent projects, including work in the renovation, institutional, and residential sectors. He is also a LEED AP in Building Design + Construction. Prior to joining AXIA, he was a Registered Architect in Hong Kong, specializing in multiple typologies, including high-rise residences, recreational, and sports facilities. He continues to demonstrate his expertise in project management, leading various phases of projects, from feasibility studies to construction. Cyrus possesses foresight and attention to detail while working efficiently under tight deadlines, leveraging collaborative skills to maximize project success. His cosmopolitan design background often provides a fresh source of ideas and approaches to AXIA.

Neil Jo is an experienced designer who has consistently worked on a variety of projects worldwide. With a strong ability to identify the key characteristics of projects valued by clients, he excels in delivering all the outcomes required for AXIA’s projects, ranging from three-dimensional interpretations to visualizations, contributing to the success of numerous projects. Before joining AXIA, Neil was extensively involved in large-scale projects in Korea, including high-rise buildings and mixed-use facilities. Building on this experience, he closely observed the trends of automation and large-scale development in modern architecture, which led him to pursue further studies and earn a master’s degree in the field. Since joining AXIA, Neil has shifted his focus to regional and character-driven small to medium-sized buildings. Starting with projects in Hong Kong and more recently expanding his work to the Toronto region, he has successfully delivered results in these areas. These diverse experiences have broadened his architectural vocabulary and professional expertise, enabling him to understand a variety of contexts and provide a solid foundation for applying innovative and thoughtful design solutions to AXIA’s projects.
